This workshop is for anyone who wants to get more out of their sheet music. If you just read the lyrics and ignore all the notation, this well-structured and clearly explained workshop will get you well on your way to understanding what all those dots and squiggles mean. Using a variety of activities, games and music theory, Richard help you to remove some of the guesswork that goes on within choir rehearsals. You will gain a better understanding of how to identify what notes you should be aiming for, and exactly when you should be singing them.
There will also be plenty of chances to ask questions, so you can make sure you get to grips with the basics.
Richard is the founder and director of London City Voices, a huge multi-branch non-audition choir. A musician, bandleader and educator for the past 30 years, one of Richard's main areas of expertise lies in helping people who believe they have no singing ability at all to find freedom - and accuracy - in singing. He is currently writing a book and an online course aimed at exactly this demographic in the hope that many people will experience the joy that singing can bring.
