Once or twice a term we run workshops exploring some aspect of music.

Singing

We run practical singing workshops to help people develop their vocal skills and overcome particular difficulties. We have been lucky enough to welcome some of the best teachers in the business including Abi Gilchrist, professional singer and leader of UK Soul Choirs, and Kim Chandler, vocal coach to the stars. 

Workshops generally take place on a Saturday with two sessions – the morning is usually an introduction to cover the basics, and the afternoon expands on what was covered in the morning session, ending with a masterclass to address specific issues for particular singers.

These are always very popular and are open to everyone, with a discount for fully paid-up choir members.

Understanding Music Notation

This is a series of workshops run by Richard, drawing on his expertise as both a classroom teacher and professional musician. If you’re unsure what all those dots and squiggles mean, this is for you.‍

‍There’s no requirement to read music in LCV but if you’d like to learn, these well structured, clearly explained workshops will get you well on your way.
